This is a series of slides that defines the Stolen Generations for upper primary and secondary students and unpacks the history of assimilation. It is supported by a case study and discussion prompts that encourage students to engage in meaningful reflection on the ongoing effects of the assimilation policy. Students then explore the steps that have been, and still need to be taken on a path towards healing.

This short film shares Laxmi's story.
Laxmi is 16. She lives with her mother and siblings in a remote area in Nepal where nearly half the people live below the poverty line. After losing her father at a young age, Laxmi was more vulnerable of falling further into extreme poverty. But with the support of our partner Caritas Nepal, Laxmi joined a child's club, became a leader in her school and is now a mentor to other girls in her village.
