Caritas Australia has launched its first-ever Catholic Social Teaching (CST) Card Sets, taking its existing Catholic Social Teaching Toolkit and resources, and creating an accessible and portable way to integrate CST principles for schools, parishes and workplaces.

The set of 38 cards includes photos from Caritas Australia programs, Bible verses, quotes and prayers and can be used by individuals or groups.

“We developed this resource to help people deepen their understanding of the principles at the heart of our work towards social and ecological justice,” said Michael McGirr, Caritas Australia’s Mission Facilitator.

“At its core, Caritas Australia embodies the hope expressed in our Catholic Social Teaching Tradition. That tradition contains some mighty concepts: human dignity, solidarity, subsidiarity, participation, the common good, care for our common home and preferential option for the poor. We wanted a resource that would distill these big concepts into something tangible and accessible, but without oversimplifying them.”

“The CST Card Set will undoubtedly be a fantastic resource for teachers to discuss CST principles in an accessible way with all age groups, and for workplaces looking to integrate Mission into their day-to-day. They were designed to be adaptable and flexible, so that they can be used many times with the same classroom or group.”

The CST Card Set also includes activity prompts, reflection questions and information about the Laudato Si’ Action Goals. Sets are available for $40 per set or $35 per set for bulk orders of 10 or more, including GST and postage.
