Bring hope and joy this Christmas with a Caritas Global Gift

Most of us spend time and energy every year looking for the right Christmas gifts for our loved ones, yet annually Australians waste millions on unwanted presents.

Unwanted gifts are not only a waste of time and effort, but a sad reminder of the huge wealth gap between many Australians and those living in poverty.

This year, buy a Christmas gift with more meaning, one that will bring real joy to somebody in need. Caritas Australia is encouraging Australians to help create life-long change for some of the world’s poorest communities with Global Gifts.

Last year Caritas Australia reached more than 3.6 million people worldwide, including Australia, through long-term development and emergency programs.

Caritas Australia’s Global Gifts are a great way to rediscover the true meaning of Christmas by showing compassion to those in need and sending joy and hope across the globe.

Kirsty Robertson, Caritas Australia’s CEO, says: “The proceeds from ‘Global Gifts are directed towards our work with the poor and vulnerable, many of whom are separated from their families at this holy time in an effort to find employment or because of natural or man-made crises.”

“When you send a Global Gift to a loved one, you’re not only helping out somebody in need, but you’re also spreading a Christmas message of hope for the future.”

The Caritas Australia Global Gift cards are an opportunity to bring the gifts of education, food and protection to families struggling with poverty, disability and the COVID-19 pandemic.

Caritas Global Gifts can be purchased for as little as $15 and come in both printed and e-card version. They come with a card for a friend or family member, meaning you give twice – joy and hope to people in need and to your loved one.
