In 1994, Angela started working as Diocesan Coordinator for the Archdiocese of Adelaide, moving into the role of Diocesan Director in 2013 and later adding Community Participation Leader to her duties in 2016. In 2018, Angela was Acting Group Coordinator for the Community Participation Leaders.

Over the course of her diverse career, Angela led and participated in several advocacy campaigns and working groups, including Project Compassion, the International and National Lenten speakers’ programs, and Diocesan Director conference committees.

Angela says, “I see my job as telling the story of Caritas and inviting people to participate.”

Angela has forged strong relationships in the Archdiocese with priests, Archbishops, donors, supporters, and other stakeholders. She is working with the Committee to build a stronger presence of youth involvement in the Diocese, with a view to creating a Youth Committee in the future.

Angela reflects, “I believe the gospel calls us to do the work at Caritas, just as Jesus did. We are so privileged to work for Caritas and work with the people because we’re doing what we’re required to do in our faith. It’s really important that we ourselves emulate the principles of Catholic social teaching in the work we do.”

We are very grateful to Angela for her enduring commitment to the Archdiocese of Adelaide and her pursuit of the social mission of the church. We wish her every success in the future.

"We cannot do everything, and there is a sense of liberation in realising that. This enables us to do something and to do it very well. It may be incomplete, but it is a beginning, a step along the way, an opportunity for the Lord's grace to enter and do the rest." - Oscar Romero
