Lana WFTW Seminar Mission In Action

Lana Hanley

Africa and Pacific Associate Director, Caritas Australia.

With over 15 years of experience in international development, Lana has worked with both local and global NGOs. Since joining Caritas two years ago, she has been inspired by the transformative power of the confederation. Lana believes that when girls and women are empowered, it benefits not only them but society as a whole. She shares, "Your support genuinely makes a difference – not only financially but also in showing that people in Australia care and are backing them."

Viloki WFTW Seminar Mission In Action

Viloki Gohil

Monitoring & Evaluation Officer, FRIEND, Fiji.

Viloki worked with the Foundation for Rural Integrated Enterprises & Development (FRIEND) from 2011 to 2015 and rejoined in 2023. Her work focuses on managing projects that address social issues and community improvement in Fiji's Northern region. She is committed to sustainable development through adult learning techniques and believes in the holistic perspectives women bring to leadership. Viloki emphasises the importance of equitable leadership for women and says, "Thanks to the supporters of Caritas Australia, people in the Northern region of Fiji are provided with opportunities to improve their livelihoods."

Lucy Espila WFTW Seminar Mission In Action

Lucy Espila

Regional Coordinator, Caritas Africa.

Elected as Caritas Africa's first female Regional Secretary General in May 2023, Lucy Espila brings 12 years of experience working across diocesan, national, and continental levels. She has been a strong advocate for regional and international engagement, working closely with the UN, EU, and African Union. A passionate supporter of regionalisation and women’s leadership, Lucy emphasises the importance of creating supportive environments that empower women to lead and achieve their full potential. She expresses her gratitude to supporters, saying, "Your support enables Caritas Africa to participate in international forums and influence policy on critical issues."
