In line with Catholic Social Teaching, the rights of the individual to personal possessions and community resources must be balanced with the needs of the disadvantaged and dispossessed.

Catholic Social Teaching is deeply embedded in the operations of Caritas Australia. Priority is given to development programs which involve collaboration with all relevant sectors of the community to further the common good.

We are accredited by the Australian Department of Foreign Affairs and Trade (DFAT), responsible for managing Australia’s aid program. To maintain accreditation, all of our systems, policies and processes are rigorously reviewed by the Australian Government.
