How food insecurity is affecting communities in Zimbabwe
Your support will provide critical resources to families like Priscilla's:
CONSERVATION FARMING
Provide families with the training they need to sustain their family and their farms through conversation agriculture. This knowledge will equip them with an understanding of how to work with drought resistant crops for an ongoing food source.
INCOME GENERATION
Support a family with seeds with a garden will give them the means to sell excess plants and vegetables at local farmers markets
COMMUNITY REHABILITATION
Ensuring community access to resources that keep livestock clean, reduce the risk of disease and provide drinking water.
Today more than ever we are witnessing the human cost of climate change...
...and we can do something about it.
In Zimbabwe, the severe impact of a prolonged drought and extreme changes in the weather are making life even harder for families like Priscilla's. As crops fail and livestock die, normally resilient families are more susceptible to hunger and financial insecurity.
Your generosity can help meet the immediate and future needs of families living in the most vulnerable conditions. In Priscilla's village we work with local partners to deliver programs that drive lasting change for individuals and their communities.
Along with other members of her community, Priscilla has learned about conservation farming to grow more drought-resistant crops. From an increased harvest, she has been able to buy hens, whose eggs now bring income to support her family.
These essential programs can make a life-changing difference for women like Priscilla.
